Description
James Dixon & Sons Climax Cartridge Loader
An extremely rare “Climax Cartridge Loader” by James Dixon & Sons of Sheffield.
From the James Dixon catalogue of 1883….”The Climax is the only loader offered to the Trade that blocks automatically when the cartridge cases are loaded, and that can be guaranteed not to cut the shot in working; it excels all other machines of the kind for simplicity of adjustment and accuracy of measurement, and has been pronounced by competant judges (to whom it was submitted for experiment) to be mechanically perfect.”
In 1883 this machine cost the princely sum of 115/6 which was an enormous amount of money.
The machine is in excellent condition and comes with a 12 gauge case for 50 cartridges.
