Early model, calibration by rotating rear cover after loosening the small screw. A clean, gold coloured barometer in good working order. Complete with event marker / pointer on rotating front rim. No dents or noticable marks but a little wear to the lacquer mainly around the knurling on the sides.

Silver coloured metal face clearly engraved 21-31 (Pressure) and 0-10000 (Altitude)

The carrying case looks good inside and out and the latch works but the hinge is loose.

Negretti and Zambra (active 1850 – c. 1999) was a company that produced scientific and optical instruments and also operated a photographic studio based in London.

Henry Negretti (1818–1879) and Joseph Zambra (1822–1897) formed a partnership in 1850, thereby founding the firm which would eventually be appointed opticians and scientific instrument makers to Her Majesty Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and King Edward VII, the Royal Observatory and the British Admiralty. Henry (Enrico Angelo Lodovico) Negretti was born in Como, Italy. Joseph Warren Zambra was born in Saffron Walden, Essex the son of Joseph Cezare Zambra and Phyllis Warren.
